Eat me

Out of curiosity, I Googled "Cinnamon+acne". Not only did I NOT FIND ANYWHERE WHATSOEVER anything implying that ingesting cinnamon will cause an acne breakout, BUT many of the home remedies included a honey and cinnamon paste to be applied to the face every night. Also, suggestions of garlic being rubbed on the affected areas.

So if I eventually decide to give up with the nasty prescription cream, I can try the more natural route. And smell like garlic, honey, cinnamon, and there was also mention of the use of vinegar. YUM!

Have you tried el zinco? I have a big e-book on acne and it's treatment on my harddrive. If you email me, I can send you the link to download it...or I can just place it here?

I wonder if women who smell like garlic, honey, cinnamon, and vinegar attract men who are good cooks?

I took zinc, went on the Diane-35 pill and have been on it for ten years... and had facials and ozone skin treatments with my lovely mum the beauty therapist. Wish I'd had before-and-after photos taken: no one believes now that I had bad acne as a teenager.

    Happy birthday!

Dude man- Yep, 100 mg. a day and didn't notice any difference for months on end. The dermatologist said to stop taking it since it can deplete your magnesium level if you take too much.

    Liz- Definitely possible.

Purple owl- Never heard of the Diane-35 pill or "ozone treatments". What does it consist of?

    Hi Rox,

Not sure if the Diane has another name in the US? Here's the manufacturer's site, anyway. http://www.diane35.com/
There are a few (cheaper) generic brands here, called Brenda and Estelle (the Diane's about AU$30 a month, and the Estelle, the cheapest, is about AU$11 when I buy it a whole year at a time from a discount chemist). Basically, the Pill + acne and excess hair treatment. I don't have the hair, but man I had the acne.

Ozone -- I would have facials, with cleansing and steam and that sort of thing, and then there's a glass attachment on my mum's electrolysis machine that created little sparks of electricity between it and my skin, forcing ozone into the skin. That's a very non-scientific description -- give me a yell if you want me to ask her for more specific details. No pain or anything, just a tingle, and a bit of a metally taste in the mouth (especially when I had braces on).

OK, mega comment. Hey, give your 'Ron' a big hug for me, willya? Tell him I'll drop him a line soon.
