Ode to Chocolate
Oh, how I love thee....
You are there for me when I am feeling down.
You are there for me when I am feeling up.
I love how you smell.
I love how you taste.
I love how you feel when you've melted on my tongue
but I'm still holding you in my mouth
savoring every last little bit.
Sometimes
you are my best friend.
You never
let me down.
Sometimes
I wish I could eat you until I pass out.
Maybe I'll add that
to my list of things to do before I die.
You are there for me when I am feeling down.
You are there for me when I am feeling up.
I love how you smell.
I love how you taste.
I love how you feel when you've melted on my tongue
but I'm still holding you in my mouth
savoring every last little bit.
Sometimes
you are my best friend.
You never
let me down.
Sometimes
I wish I could eat you until I pass out.
Maybe I'll add that
to my list of things to do before I die.

Hey Roxanne,
I bet you thought I was gone for good but NOPE… here I am!! I smelled chocolate and just followed my nose all the way here. It smelled so good it got my out of my blogging coma. Lol
Seriously though… that looks really good.

Chocolate is THAT powerful! When I came out of surgery in August I had to be NPO (nothing by mouth) for a few weeks and after spending THAT much time away from food it was hard when it came time to introduce solid foods again. One thing that made me curious enough to try was always chocoalte. Sometimes it stayed down sometimes it didn't but I always tried. Is it 3:30am on your end too? What are you doing up? I thought I was the only insomniac around here?

oh and as soon as i saw this I went out and bought him 3 cards. One from me, one from my mom and one from my dog. I'm also mass emailing this to friends and family that I know will get off their buts and actually do it.
What a sweetheart... all he wants are cards.
aww..

Yep, 3:30 here, too. I keep letting my sleep schedule get all screwed up and then I regret it during the week. Time to go beddy bye now. zzzzzzzzz....

I've just never gotten into chocolate - or sweets at all, for that matter. The occasional ice cream, but otherwise, I could do without sweets entirely.
However, I did taste some chocolate last week (at a coworker's insistance) that was something like 85% cocoa, so very little sugar. I really liked it, which surprised me. The slight bitterness and the richness of the flavor is what got me - I could imagine eating a square of that with some coffee or tea. I kinda sorta understand now where you chocoholics are coming from!

Anne- I've come to love dark chocolate in the last few years due to Ron and the fact that it's supposedly healthy for you. I like the newest chocolates with lots of cocoa, but I think just plain dark is still my favorite.
